First Lady and Secretary of State Honor Women of Courage

Mrs. Trump says courage is strengthened in love.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio and First Lady Melania Trump honored a group of eight women selected for the 19th annual International Women of Courage (IWOC) Award Ceremony on Tuesday at the Department of State. Former Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice established the award, which accepts recommendations for candidates from U.S. embassies.

State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce said, “The Secretary of State’s annual IWOC Award recognizes women from around the globe who have demonstrated exceptional courage, strength, and leadership in advocating for peace, justice, human rights, and the empowerment of women and girls – often at great personal risk and sacrifice. Since 2007, the Department of State has recognized more than 200 women from over 90 countries.”

Attorney General Pam Bondi, Small Business Administration Administrator Kelly Loeffler, Secretary of Labor Lori Chavez-DeRemer, and Secretary of Education Linda McMahon also attended the ceremony.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Rubio to receive God’s guidance as he heads the State Department.
  • For First Lady Melania Trump as she promotes and advocates for human rights and women’s issues.
