Praying for Our Leaders in Government
Executive Branch: Pray for the President and his Administration
Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and CIA Director John Ratcliffe testified before the Senate this week regarding the accidental inclusion of a journalist in a Signal chat with high-level Cabinet members. Director Ratcliffe confirmed that the secure chat program was first authorized for use by President Biden’s administration for intelligence messaging. DNI Gabbard stated that nothing classified had been shared in the chat with the reporter.
Pray for the attorney general and Justice Department officials as they seek to defend President Trump’s orders and policies in federal courts.
Legislative Branch: Pray for Senators and Representatives in Congress
Over a dozen Senators supported the introduction of the Veterans 2nd Amendment Protection Act. The legislation would stop the Department of Veterans Affairs from reporting veterans to the National Instant Background Check System without due process. The current policy, which flags veterans who need assistance managing their benefits, has caused hundreds of thousands of veterans to lose their Second Amendment right to bear arms since 1998.
Pray for legislators in both houses of Congress to be discerning as they seek to safeguard veterans’ gun rights.
PRAY FOR CONGRESSIONAL COMMITTEES
Senate committees met this week to consider President Trump’s nomination of Dr. Mehmet Oz for Administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Mike Huckabee as U.S. Ambassador to Israel, and Frank Bisignano for Commissioner of the Social Security Administration.
Pray that the senators will be prudent as they question the various nominees as the confirmation process continues.
Judicial Branch: Pray for Supreme Court Justices and Federal Judges
A District Court judge in Washington, D.C., has blocked the Department of Defense from implementing new rules on transgender individuals serving in the U.S. military. Judge Ana Reyes issued a 79-page memorandum along with the preliminary injunction and included her own independent research on disorders of sexual development.
Pray for district court judges as they hear and rule on cases to uphold the law and the U.S. Constitution.
