Your right hand, O Lord, glorious in power… shatters the enemy. – Exodus 15:6
Today’s verse is from the song the Israelites sang when God delivered them from the Egyptians. They walked across the Red Sea on dry land, then the waters returned and drowned the Egyptian army. Israel rejoiced at this deliverance. But they soon forgot this great miracle as they worried about where the next meal was coming from.
You may wonder at how quickly they forgot. When facing hard times, it can be difficult to remember that God will come through for you despite how many times He has already provided. God is love. He is able to do all things. He has glorious power. He’s the same God that held back the waters of the Red Sea, shut the mouths of lions for Daniel, and stopped the fire from burning three of His followers. The Spirit of the Lord dwells in you (Romans 8:11 and 1 Corinthians 6:19). It is a life-long task for most Christians to fully let go and trust God for every need, laying aside fear, doubt, and unbelief. Considering the capacity you have to make mistakes, you may wonder if God’s going to give up on you and let you suffer for your mistakes for the rest of your life.
Israel did not learn to trust the Lord and wandered around the mountain for forty years. Learn from their experience. God loved them and desired to take care of them, just as He loves and cares for you. Rest in His love. Pray that the eyes of citizens and governing officials will be opened to His great love, provision, and salvation in Jesus.

your right hand, O Lord, shatters the enemy.

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? 28 And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, 29 yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
34 “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
