He announced a 30-day extension to end the cordon pricing as a lawsuit proceeds.
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said that President Trump’s administration is giving the state of New York a 30-day extension to end congestion pricing in New York City.
“[Governor Kathy Hochul] — the federal government and [President Trump] are putting New York on notice,” Secretary Duffy stated last week. “Your refusal to end cordon pricing and your open disrespect towards the federal government is unacceptable.”
The approval for New York’s congestion pricing plan for the busiest areas of New York City was given by President Biden’s administration at the end of 2024. President Trump’s administration revoked this approval last month, and New York City’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority sued the administration. New York Governor Kathy Hochul is continuing to implement congestion pricing while the lawsuit proceeds.
Secretary Duffy continued, “Know that the billions of dollars the federal government sends to New York are not a blank check. Continued noncompliance will not be taken lightly.“
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Duffy to receive God’s wisdom as he heads the Transportation Department.
- For discernment for the president and members of his administration as they seek to withdraw federal funding from states and institutions.
