In the News…
Senator Joni Ernst of Iowa, chair of the DOGE Caucus, introduced the Return to Sender Act to recoup $3 billion allocated by President Biden’s administration under the Inflation Reduction Act for electric postal service delivery trucks. Representative Michael Cloud of Texas introduced the bill in the House.
The South Carolina company contracted to produce the trucks has delivered less than 100 to the U.S. Postal Service since the initial order for 50,000 of the electric vehicles was placed three years ago.
“Biden’s EV postal fleet is lost in the mail. The order needs to be canceled with the unspent money returned to sender, the taxpayers,” said Senator Ernst. “I am defunding this billion-dollar boondoggle to stamp out waste in Washington. Tax dollars should always be treated with first class priority.”
