Issue 690 – National Prayer Needs

Additional National Prayer Needs

Pray for America’s Military

A U.S.-flagged ship anchored off the coast of the United Kingdom experienced a ruptured cargo tank and explosions after it was struck by a Portuguese container ship this week. The U.S. vessel was contracted by the Military Sealift Command to bring jet fuel to the U.S. military in support of the Defense Logistics Agency. A U.S. official reassured that “The collision and ensuing explosions will not impact operations or combat readiness.”

Pray for U.S. defense officials and contractors as they seek to maintain the military supply chain.

PRAY FOR AN END TO THE WAR IN UKRAINE

After U.S. and Ukrainian officials met in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to discuss peace between an end to the war, Ukraine expressed acceptance of a proposed 30-day ceasefire. The U.S. agreed to immediately share intelligence again and release military aid that had been paused.

Pray for President Trump and members of his diplomatic team as they seek a ceasefire agreement from Russia.

Pray for AMERICA’S RELATIONSHIP WITH ISRAEL

Secretary of State Rubio called the U.S. special envoy’s direct talks with Hamas a “one-off situation.” Israeli officials were not in favor of the move. Now this effort to release the remaining hostages in Hamas’ captivity has reportedly been unsuccessful. After urging from President Trump’s administration, Israel is negotiating with Lebanon regarding the border shared by the two countries.

Pray for U.S. diplomatic officials as they seek to assist Israel in resolving conflicts with Hamas and Hezbollah.

Pray for AMERICA’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., stated that “diabetes and other mitochondrial diseases are now costing America more than our military budget.” He said that Americans have been poisoning themselves with ultra-processed foods, calling for companies to switch to traditionally healthier ingredients.

Pray for Secretary Kennedy and HHS officials as they assess and seek to improve the state of public health.

Pray for Needs Across the States

The Nebraska legislature passed a bill that would define app-based drivers as independent contractors rather than employees of companies such as Uber, Lyft, and DoorDash. The legislation was introduced at the request of a ride-share company and now goes to the desk of Governor Jim Pillen to be signed into law.

Kansas legislators in the state house and senate overrode a veto from Governor Laura Kelly last month to protect minors from transgender medical procedures. The Help Not Harm Act prohibits doctors from prescribing cross-sex hormones and puberty blockers or performing transgender surgeries on minors.

Pray for state legislators as they evaluate the issues facing their states and determine strategies to address them.

Pray for America’s Faith Community

This is the day that the Lord has made. We, His people, have chosen to rejoice in this day and be glad. … There’s something about God’s timing that many people either miss or many people don’t understand. Some people try to move ahead of God, and then they miss the right timing. Or some people lag behind, and so they’re not keeping up. You see, God’s timing is perfect. So God has a perfect timing that He has set for every person. … God’s timing is perfect. God wants you to wait on His timing. When we wait on God, He is preparing us. He is maturing you, He is elevating you. He’s giving you wisdom, He’s giving you understanding. He’s helping you to be prepared for what He’s about to bring to you.“  – Pastor Alice Smith, Welcome Home, March 2025
