USAID Funding Deadline

Today is the deadline for President Donald Trump’s administration to comply with a district judge’s temporary restraining order mandating that payments be disbursed to nonprofits who sued the government for freezing all U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) funding for administrative review. The administration’s attorneys reported to the court that the review has been completed, there is no longer a pause on payments, and the State Department has approved payments to the plaintiffs.

The Senate is scheduled to hold the confirmation vote for President Trump’s nominee for Secretary of the Department of Labor, Lori Chavez-DeRemer. The Labor Department has not had a Senate-confirmed head since March 2023.

The House Committee of Rules, chaired by Representative Virginia Foxx of North Carolina, is holding a business meeting to consider the Pandemic Unemployment Fraud Enforcement Act and the potential congressional disapproval of the “Gross Proceeds Reporting by Brokers That Regularly Provide Services Effectuating Digital Asset Sales” from the Internal Revenue Service.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For President Trump and members of his administration as they seek to reduce government spending and comply with legal orders.
  • For Senators as they prepare for the confirmation vote on the president’s labor secretary nominee.
  • For members of congressional committees as they review proposed legislation in their respective chambers.
