President Trump’s 25 percent tariffs on goods from Mexico and Canada increase interest in U.S. production.
Honda is exploring moving manufacturing of the next generation Civic to Indiana instead of Mexico after President Donald Trump’s tariffs were placed on Tuesday. The company previously produced its best-selling models in Mexico due to lower labor costs.
Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said the president is “thinking about right now how exactly he wants to play it with Mexico and Canada, and that is a fluid situation. … Exactly what they are, we’re going to leave that for the president and his team to negotiate.”
President Trump has already negotiated increased support from Canada and Mexico on border security. Secretary Lutnick said more work needs to be done to reduce the amount of fentanyl entering the U.S. from China.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For President Trump to receive God’s direction as he works to increase domestic production and add jobs to the U.S. economy.
- For Secretary Lutnick to be prudent as he heads the Department of Commerce.
