During British Prime Minister Starmer’s visit to the White House, he presented a letter to President Donald Trump signed by King Charles III with an invitation for a second state visit to England.
President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump made their first state visit in 2019 at the invitation of the late Queen Elizabeth II, mother of King Charles.
Prime Minister Starmer said as he gave President Trump the invitation letter, “This is really special, this has never happened before, this is unprecedented.”
“This is truly historic,” the British prime minister added, regarding the second state visit. “His Majesty the King wants to make this even better.”
President Trump responded, “On behalf of the wonderful First Lady Melania and myself, the answer is yes. It will be my honor to be there.”
