In the News…

U.S. District Judge Trevor McFadden denied an emergency motion from the Associated Press to require President Donald Trump’s administration to restore the new outlet to the White House and Air Force One press pool.

After President Trump issued an order renaming the Gulf of Mexico the “Gulf of America,” the outlet continued to use the old name. The AP filed a lawsuit against members of President Trump’s administration when they removed the outlet’s access to the Oval Office and Air Force One press gaggle over usage of the name. They claim violations of the First and Fifth Amendments.

Judge McFadden said that the circumstances were “not the type of dire situation” that called for emergency action since the organization still has access to information from the White House Correspondents’ Association

The judge did expedite the hearing of the case to March 20.
