President Trump Dismisses Chair of the Joint Chiefs

Other defense heads also being replaced.

President Donald Trump thanked Air Force General CQ Brown for over 40 years of service to the nation as he announced his replacement as chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The president named retired Air Force Lt. General Dan “Razin” Caine for the position.

President Trump described General Caine as “an accomplished pilot, national security expert, successful entrepreneur, and a ‘warfighter’ with significant interagency and special operations experience.” The president stated that the previous administration “passed over“ General Caine for promotion.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth requested nominations for chief of naval operations and Air Force vice chief of staff, expressing gratitude for the service of the leaders who are being released.

Secretary Hegseth stated of the changes, “Under President Trump, we are putting in place new leadership that will focus our military on its core mission of deterring, fighting, and winning wars.”
