Loeffler becomes SBA Administrator and Lutnick confirmed as Commerce Secretary.
The Senate confirmed former U.S. Senator Kelly Loeffler as the head of the Small Business Administration (SBA) this week.
“America’s entrepreneurs are one of our greatest assets and they have a big role to play in our future prosperity. Senator Loeffler will be their champion,” Senate Majority Leader John Thune said on the floor ahead of the vote. “Every decision an entrepreneur makes is a big decision. It’s their livelihood, their dreams and their future that’s on the line. Kelly Loeffler understands this and I look forward to working with her to support small businesses and strengthen our economy.”
Howard Lutnick, former CEO of Cantor Fitzgerald, was confirmed as Commerce Secretary by the Senate on Tuesday. Secretary Lutnick expressed support for President Trump’s reciprocal tariffs during the confirmation hearings.
