Senate majority leader looks forward to working with him “to restore the integrity of the FBI.”
The Senate confirmed President Donald Trump’s nominee Kash Patel as the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Director Patel is a former public defender, congressional aide, and national security official from President Trump’s first administration.
Senate Majority Leader John Thune of South Dakota said, “I look forward to working with Mr. Patel to restore the integrity of the FBI and get it focused on its critical mission.”
Senate Judiciary Committee chair Chuck Grassley said, “Mr. Patel was instrumental in exposing Crossfire Hurricane. He showed that the Democratic National Committee funded false allegations against President Trump, that the DOJ and FBI hid information from the FISA court to wiretap a presidential campaign, and that an FBI lawyer lied in the process.”
Senator Grassley continued, “As reward for his efforts to uncover the truth, he was attacked by the media, and the DOJ secretly subpoenaed his records.“
President Trump stated, “Kash is a brilliant lawyer, investigator, and ‘America First’ fighter who has spent his career exposing corruption, defending Justice, and protecting the American People.”
