Issue 687 – National Prayer Needs

Additional National Prayer Needs

Pray for America’s Military

The U.S. Army has reportedly been using food deductions from soldiers’ paychecks for “other unspecified purposes.” While the deductions are supposed to pay for the food service costs for junior enlisted troops living in Army barracks on base, more than half of that money has been put into the general Army fund over the past year.

Pray for the secretary of defense and heads of the military branches as they consider the redirection of food funds.

PRAY FOR AN END TO THE WAR IN UKRAINE

Members of President Trump’s administration met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Russian Aide to the President Yuri Ushakov in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, this week to discuss the potential peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine.

For Presidents Trump, Putin, and Zelensky as peace negotiations proceed.

Pray for AMERICA’S RELATIONSHIP WITH ISRAEL

Negotiations are taking place on the next phase of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas. The remaining hostages are expected to be released in the second phase, though it is reported that those still being held by Hamas, in Gaza or the surrounding, are dead.

Pray for discernment for U.S. officials as they engage in discussions regarding the ceasefire in Gaza.

Pray for AMERICA’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING

USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins said that she looks forward to working with HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., on promoting healthy foods, and is considering the removal of junk food and sugary drinks from SNAP benefits. She said that she will also work with DOGE on wasteful spending in the nutritional program.

Pray for U.S. food and health officials as they evaluate the nutritional values of American foods and the ingredients that may be causing chronic illness or obesity.

Pray for Needs Across the States

A Texas state judge fined a New York doctor $100,000 for prescribing abortion medication to a Texas woman. On the same day, the state of Louisiana sought to extradite that doctor for prescribing abortion medication to a minor. New York Governor Kathy Hochul refused to extradite the doctor.

The speaker of the Georgia House of Representatives introduced the Riley Gaines Act this month. The bill would replace the term “gender” in the state code with “sex” in order to bar biological males from competing in women’s sports or having access to their locker rooms.

Pray for state officials as they address the needs of their people and the issues facing their jurisdictions.

Pray for America’s Faith Community

“Each day we have so many things that we have to get done and so many places to go. If you are like me, you can look at a day and get very depressed, because you are not sure you can get everything done! Understand that we all get the same hours each day. and during those busy days that we have, we need to set time aside to read God’s Word and listen to Him.
In Psalm 119 verse 97 it says, ‘Oh how I love Your law, I meditate on it all day long.‘
When we spend time in God’s Word, we need to meditate on those verses throughout the day and that will help us get through our busy days.“ – Michelle Ankerberg, A Moment with Michelle
