Praying for Our Leaders in Government
Executive Branch: Pray for the President and his Administration
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem successfully retrieved $59 million that was sent to pay for housing for illegal immigrants in New York City earlier this month. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) employees who made the unauthorized payment to the luxury hotel have been released from the agency.
Pray for the president and members of his administration as they work to eliminate fraud and reduce wasteful government spending.
Legislative Branch: Pray for Senators and Representatives in Congress
The House of Representatives approved the Midnight Rules Relief Act this month which would expand the ability of Congress to reverse regulations enacted by the previous presidential administration. While the Congressional Review Act allows a case-by-case review of regulations from the final six months of the term, this legislation would increase the timeframe to a year and allow for the inclusion of multiple regulations in the process.
Pray for members of Congress as they consider the reversal of rules and regulations made in the final year of former President Biden’s term.
PRAY FOR CONGRESSIONAL COMMITTEES
The Senate Judiciary Committee, chaired by Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa, held a hearing on strengthening online safety for children. The members of the committee are considering the reintroduction of the Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA), which died in the House last year over censorship concerns.
Pray for wisdom for members of the House and Senate committees as they seek to address digital safety for children.
Judicial Branch: Pray for Supreme Court Justices and Federal Judges
The district court judge who temporarily halted the “Fork in the Road” buyout initiative from President Donald Trump’s administration to downsize the federal government workforce, later ruled that the unions who sued to stop the program lacked legal standing. Approximately 75,000 government employees accepted the deferred resignation offer before the court-delayed cutoff.
Pray for members at every level on the federal bench to be impartial in their decisions and base their rulings upon the U.S. Constitution.
