State Department Suspends Plan to Buy Armored Teslas

The investment proposed by the previous administration has been marked inactive.

The State Department suspended its proposed contract for a fleet of armored electric vehicles last week, changing the original document to say “armored electric vehicles” instead of “armored Teslas.”

This contract had first been proposed by President Biden’s administration, and had opened the contract proposal to public comment to “explore interest from private companies to produce armored electric vehicles,” a spokesperson stated.

After opening the public comment period, the department only heard from one company, prompting officials to mark the proposal as inactive on the General Services Administration website where it was posted.

As reports spread about the existence of this proposal and its original reference to Tesla, Elon Musk confirmed that his company was not involved, stating, “I’m pretty sure Tesla isn’t getting $400M. No one mentioned it to me, at least.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Rubio and officials in the State Department as they evaluate government contracts.
  • For DOGE personnel and Elon Musk as they conduct audits and publish findings regarding government spending.
