Panel members discuss the efforts being made by the “Department of Government Efficiency.”
DOGE Committee Chair Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia presided over the panel’s first hearing last week. She supported the work of Elon Musk’s “Department of Government Efficiency” and the audits that have been taking place and information being released.
Chair Greene addressed the claims that unelected DOGE officials have accessed federal systems, stating, “Federal judges were not elected. The Treasury bureaucrats were not elected, and they have failed to fix the problem that is enabling American taxpayers to be robbed. So why not bring in skilled outside experts like private companies and private citizens who were successful in the real world to do everyday work that we need to get done here, like audits?”
She cautioned federal judges that blocked DOGE from accessing Treasury Department payment systems, stating, “We will hold this judge and others who try to stop the will of the people and their elected leaders accountable.”
Ranking member Representative Melanie Stansbury of New Mexico called on Elon Musk to testify before the committee. She claimed that President Trump and Musk were breaking the law by shutting down agencies established by Congress.
Representative Stansbury stated the federal government is being illegally dismantled by the shuttering of federal agencies, firing of federal employees, and funding being withheld.
Representative Val Hoyle has resigned from the DOGE Caucus, stating that “it is impossible to fix the system” when DOGE’s actions are “actively breaking it.“
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For discernment for DOGE personnel as they conduct audits of federal departments and agencies.
- For members of Congress to be prudent as they seek to provide oversight of DOGE activities.
