Federal Employee Unions Sue Administration Over Mass Layoff

USAID employees also file suit over Elon Musk’s employee status.

A group of unions representing federal employees filed a lawsuit against President Trump’s administration, alleging that the mass layoff of hundreds of thousands of employees enacted by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is part of an attempt to undermine Congressional authority.

This is the second lawsuit filed by federal unions against President Trump’s administration. The first lawsuit was dismissed by District Judge George O’Toole, who said that the unions did not present sufficient evidence that they had a “direct stake” in the deferred resignation initiative instituted by DOGE as the “Fork in the Road” program.

Current and former employees of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) have also filed a lawsuit alleging that any government employee wielding enough power to fire hundreds of thousands of government workers at once, such as Elon Musk at DOGE, should have been confirmed by the Senate first.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For President Trump to be discerning as he pursues government reduction strategies.
  • For wisdom for Elon Musk and DOGE personnel as they perform audits and apprise President Trump of their findings.
  • For federal judges to be prudent in their ruling and decisions regarding Executive Branch authority.
