They received a letter specifying May 15 as the date key positions are eligible.
Employees at the Internal Revenue Service received notice last week informing them that they are not able to accept the buyout offer from President Trump’s administration until after the tax filing season.
The letter said critical filing positions “in Taxpayer Services, Information Technology, and the Taxpayer Advocate Service” were exempt from the buyout until May 15, one month after the deadline for taxpayer filings.
Employees in the specified services will be placed on administrative leave after the mid-May deadline, a month after the April 15 tax filing date. All others are to work through February 28 with paid administrative leave beginning March 1.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Acting Commissioner Doug O’Donnell to receive God’s guidance as he oversees the IRS.
- For the judges who are heading cases that challenge the moves of the president’s administration to perform audits of federal agencies.
