He called the injunction against President Trump’s DOGE auditing of the Treasury Department “a threat to democracy.”
Representative Eli Crane of Arizona drafted articles of impeachment against District Judge Paul Engelmayer after the judge placed a temporary injunction against President Trump’s U.S. DOGE Service’s access to Treasury Department payment systems.
Congressman Crane stated, “Partisan judges abusing their positions is a threat to democracy.”
“This is obviously judicial overreach,” Representative Crane continued. “Judge Engelmayer is attempting to stop White House employees from accessing the very systems they oversee. Where in the constitution does it say a President and his team cannot root out obvious waste, fraud and abuse?”
Judge Engelmayer placed the block after 19 state attorneys general claimed that DOGE personnel was a violation of the separation of powers under the U.S. Constitution. The president’s administration has filed a motion that the injunction be modified or dissolved.
In U.S. history, only 15 federal judges have been impeached. Of those, only 8 have been removed from the bench.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Representative Crane as he introduces the articles of impeachment regarding the judge’s actions.
- For wisdom for the president and members of his administration as they seek to reduce government spending and waste.
