The U.S. DOGE Service will be auditing the Bureau of Labor Statistics within the U.S. Department of Labor. The government efficiency effort will review years of economic data, inflation readings, and employment statistics among other information and reports.
In August of last year, the bureau made the largest revision in 15 years to its previously announced job growth during the timeframe of April 2023 to March 2024. The agency subtracted 818,000 from the amount of jobs created in that span. In December, the Federal Reserve Branch in Philadelphia also released an increase in job losses in quarter two of 2024.
The importance of the data is that the U.S. Federal Reserve bases its analysis of the nation’s economic health on this information. The board members then use the data to make economic recommendations and interest rate changes.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the USDS personnel as they comb through the various departments and agencies to audit government spending and account for financial information.
- For members of Congress as they prepare appropriations legislation to keep the government funded.
- For the Lord to guide the president and members of his Cabinet as they seek to increase federal efficiency.
