Secretary of State Rubio welcomes agreements from El Salvador and Guatemala.
Guatemalan President Bernardo Arévalo agreed that his country would accept migrants deported from the United States no matter their nationality. He made the announcement during a news conference with Secretary of State Marco Rubio after the two officials signed a new “safe third country” agreement.
“We have agreed to increase, by 40 percent, the number of flights of deportees, both of our nationality as well as deportees from other nationalities,” President Arevalo said.
El Salvador has also entered into a safe third-country agreement with the United States, which Secretary Rubio also oversaw during his first foreign visitations in his position. He visited four nations in Central America this week and ended his trip in the Dominican Republic.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Rubio to be led by God as he meets with foreign leaders and ministers.
- For the president and members of his administration as they seek to deport violent criminal aliens from the U.S.
