CDC Ordered to Cease Collaboration with WHO

The policy shift comes after President Trump’s withdrawal from the entity.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has been immediately directed to end all collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) following an executive order issued by President Trump to withdraw the U.S. from the agency. A memo from CDC official John Nkengasong instructed staff to halt participation in WHO-related activities, including technical groups, advisory boards, and cooperative agreements, whether in-person or virtual. Travel to WHO offices is also restricted until further notice.

The White House stated of the withdrawal from the entity, “China, with a population of 1.4 billion, has 300 percent of the population of the United States, yet contributes nearly 90 percent less to the WHO.”

President Trump said during a rally in Las Vegas, “They offered me at $39 million, they said ‘We’ll let you back in for $39 million,’ they’re going to reduce it from [$500 million] to [$39 million], and I turned them down.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For wisdom for President Trump as he seeks ways to reduce federal spending.
  • For Senators as they review and prepare to vote on the confirmation of RFK, Jr. for HHS Secretary.
