He says the waivers “continue life-saving humanitarian assistance programs.“
Secretary of State Marco Rubio issued an emergency humanitarian waiver to President Trump’s temporary foreign assistance pause for the period of review.
Secretary Rubio stated, “For the purposes of carrying out the President’s Executive Order on Reevaluating and Realigning United States Foreign Aid, I am approving an additional waiver of the pause under the Executive Order on Reevaluating and Realigning United States Foreign Aid and my subsequent direction of January 24, 2025, for life-saving humanitarian assistance during the period of the review.“
He continued, “Implementers of existing life-saving humanitarian assistance programs should continue or resume work if they have stopped, subject to the directions outlined in this waiver. This resumption is temporary in nature, and with limited exceptions as needed to continue life-saving humanitarian assistance programs, no new contracts shall be entered into.“
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Rubio and officials at the State Department as they review the assignment and uses of federal foreign aid.
- For wisdom for President Trump as he issues executive orders and seeks methods to reduce government spending.
