Envoy Witkoff meets with Prime Minister Netanyahu.
U.S. Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday to discuss the second stage of the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza. He also reportedly spoke with Palestinian officials in Saudi Arabia.
Palestinians have begun returning to Gaza as the first phase of the ceasefire is implemented. The six-week phase is supposed to have 33 Israeli hostages freed and nearly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners released. The next hostages, set to be released today, include a female soldier, a civilian woman, and an elderly man. Israel is freeing 110 Palestinians from prison in this exchange. Israel reported that Hamas may also be releasing five Thai citizens who were taken hostage during the terrorist attack on October 7, 2023.
Prime Minister Netanyahu is scheduled to meet with President Donald Trump in Washington next week.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Envoy Witkoff to receive God’s guidance as he engages with Middle Eastern leaders.
- For wisdom for President Trump as he prepares to meet with Prime Minister Netanyahu.
