Over 8,000 service members were released or left the military over COVID-19 vaccine mandates.
President Donald Trump signed an executive order this week to reinstate military service members who were ejected or left due to refusing the COVID-19 vaccine mandate, with full back pay and benefits.
Of the 1,903 soldiers, 1,878 sailors, 3,748 Marines, and 671 airmen who were separated from the U.S. Armed Forces due to the mandate, just 73 soldiers, 25 Marines, 13 airmen, and two sailors have returned since it was rescinded two years ago, allowing them to return. However, the reversal of the mandate did not provide back pay and benefits.
President Trump stated, “The military unjustly discharged those who refused the vaccine, regardless of the years of service given to our Nation, after failing to grant many of them an exemption that they should have received. Federal Government redress of any wrongful dismissals is overdue.“
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For President Trump as he seeks to persuade former military members to return to service.
- For the president as he seeks to resolve the ejection of military personnel from the U.S. Armed Forces on vaccine mandate grounds.
