President Trump to Deliver Speech in Las Vegas

Following travel to North Carolina and California on Friday where he pledged federal aid for hurricane and fire disaster relief, President Donald Trump is expected to be in Las Vegas today, to deliver remarks on his campaign promise to eliminate taxes on tips. His pledge to end taxation of income from tips and overtime was a proposal he first made in June when he spoke to workers in Nevada. The hospitality industry comprises of more than a fifth of American jobs.

Back in Washington D.C., the Senate is expected to vote on another member of President Trump’s Cabinet and Pete Hegseth is expected to be sworn in as Defense Secretary after a successful confirmation vote on Friday.

UPDATE 1:00PM EST: South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem was confirmed as the secretary of the Department of Homeland Security in a 59-34 vote.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For President Trump as he thanks voters in Nevada and discusses plans for tax relief for some hospitality workers.
  • For Congress as they continue to interview and vote on Cabinet level positions.
  • For President Trump’s safety as he continues to travel.
