President Donald Trump delivered remarks via live feed from the White House on Thursday to world leaders attending the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
The president said, “What the world has witnessed in the past 72 hours is nothing less than a revolution of common sense. Our country will soon be stronger, wealthier, and more united than ever before, and the entire planet will be more peaceful and prosperous as a result of this incredible momentum and what we’re doing and going to do.“
President Trump referenced the issues that his administration is endeavoring to fix, highlighting the rate of inflation, immigration, and crime. He cited the freeze on federal hiring, federal regulation, and foreign aid. He spoke of declaring a national energy emergency, withdrawing from the Paris Climate Accord and stopping the Green New Deal, calling the latter a “scam.”
The president outlined his plan for new energy infrastructure, saying, “Not only will this reduce the cost of virtually all goods and services, it will make the United States a manufacturing superpower and the world capital of artificial intelligence and crypto.“
He spoke about intended tax cuts and said, “My message to every business in the world is very simple: Come make your product in America, and we will give you among the lowest taxes of any nation on Earth.“ He said those who do not will be subject to differing tariffs.
