President Biden Issues More Pardons Before His Departure

He said, “These are exceptional circumstances, and I cannot in good conscience do nothing.”

President Joe Biden, in the last hours of his presidency, issued preemptive pardons of members of his family, the representatives who were on the January 6th committee, former NIAID Director Anthony Fauci, and former chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley.

“I believe in the rule of law, and I am optimistic that the strength of our legal institutions will ultimately prevail over politics,” said President Biden. “But these are exceptional circumstances, and I cannot in good conscience do nothing.”

“Even when individuals have done nothing wrong—and in fact have done the right thing—and will ultimately be exonerated, the mere fact of being investigated or prosecuted can irreparably damage reputations and finances,” he said.

President Biden commuted the sentences of approximately 2,500 non-violent drug offenders last week, surpassing his previous record set in December when he granted clemency to 1,500 in a single day.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For President Trump and members of his administration to be led by the Lord as they begin to implement policy.
  • For House Speaker Johnson and Senate Majority Leader Thune to be discerning as they set their chambers’ voting agendas.
