Israel and Hamas Reach Tentative Ceasefire Agreement

President Herzog includes President-elect Trump and his team as he expresses gratitude to all involved.

Israeli President Isaac Herzog expressed gratitude to President-elect Trump and his team during his announcement of a tentative ceasefire and hostage release agreement with Hamas. The proposal will release the hostages in phases. The agreement must go through Israeli security and government channels before it is “sealed and complete.”

President Herzog thanked Prime Minister Netanyahu and the negotiators as well as mediators from Qatar, Egypt, and the U.S.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken said, “The ceasefire deal itself requires the Israeli forces to pull back and then, assuming you get to a permanent ceasefire, to pull out entirely. But that’s what’s so critical about this post-conflict plan, the need to come to an agreement on its arrangements, because there has to be something in place that gives Israelis the confidence that they can pull out permanently and not have Hamas fill back in and not have a repeat of the last, really, decade.“

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For U.S. and Israeli officials as they seek to solidify the ceasefire agreement.
  • For the president-elect and his incoming administration to be discerning in their approach to peace in the Middle East.
