New military health contractor TriWest Healthcare Alliance offers a grace period for recurring payment updates
Beneficiaries in Tricare’s West Region now have extended deadlines to set up recurring payments with TriWest Healthcare Alliance, the new regional contractor. Tricare Young Adult, Tricare Reserve Select, and Tricare Retired Reserve plan enrollees have until January 15, while Tricare Prime and Tricare Select enrollees have until January 30 to update payment methods.
This requirement applies to individuals paying enrollment fees or premiums by credit card, debit card, or electronic funds transfer. Beneficiaries paying by military allotment or enrolled in certain other Tricare plans, such as Tricare for Life or overseas plans, are not affected by this change.
The extension follows the expansion of Tricare’s West Region to include six states and specific ZIP codes in four others. Beneficiaries can update their payment information through the secure TriWest beneficiary portal, by calling customer service, or by mailing a completed payment setup form.
