Issue 681 – National Prayer Needs

Additional National Prayer Needs

Pray for America’s Military

The Defense Department announced an investment of $14.3 million to design, produce, and test solid rocket motor systems. Assistant Secretary Taylor-Kale said, “This will… provide domestic manufacturing capabilities to meet critical demand for current and future U.S. systems.“

Pray for Pentagon officials as they seek to ensure the resilience of the supply chain and support domestic production.

PRAY FOR AN END TO THE WAR IN UKRAINE

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin announced an additional $500 million in weapons from U.S. stockpiles for Ukraine during his meeting with the Ukraine Defense Contact Group. Secretary Austin stated, “Our focus will be on maintaining momentum, delivering results, and sending a clear message: The international community stands resolute in its support for Ukraine.”

Pray for President Biden, Secretary Austin, and the Joint Chiefs of Staff as they continue to send U.S. weapons to Ukraine.

Pray for AMERICA’S RELATIONSHIP WITH ISRAEL

Secretary of State Antony Blinken recently acknowledged that the pressure the U.S. placed on Israel to provide humanitarian aid to Gaza after Hamas’ October 7 attack in 2023 may have emboldened the terrorist group to refuse ceasefire deals. He also stated Israel has not committed genocide in Gaza.

Pray for U.S. officials as they seek the release of the remaining hostages in a ceasefire agreement.

Pray for AMERICA’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING

The Food and Drug Administration released guidelines for the first time for levels of lead in processed baby foods. The guidelines mandate that manufacturers ensure no more than 10 parts per billion of lead in several types of baby food. The guidance did not address formula, beverages, or snacks. Some experts responded that most currently marketed baby foods already fall within these limits.

Pray for FDA officials as they review and assess the safe levels of lead in food and drink products.

Pray for Needs Across the States

The Ohio Legislature approved a bill that is now before Governor Mike DeWine that would enforce a “Parents Bill of Rights.“ The legislation would give parents in the state greater control over aspects of their children’s lives, such as health care and education. The measure seeks to counter the influence of schools on children’s physical and mental health.

The Wisconsin Elections Commission opened an investigation after almost 200 absentee ballots were found uncounted in Madison. Commission members were not informed of the oversight until a month and a half after the election. The clerk’s office stated that the uncounted votes did not impact the outcome of any race or referendum.

Pray for state legislatures and election officials as they seek to address issues in their jurisdictions.

Pray for America’s Faith Community

“The way God wrote His beautiful story throughout 66 books, over 1500 years, through the voices of around 40 authors, being unified in its collective message, is truly remarkable. We serve a God who gave us proof through His Word about who He is, in a way that only He would be able to do (2 Peter 1:20-21) so that we could trust His authority and rest in Him. Messianic prophecies give us assurance that Jesus is who He says He is. From both a scholarly and personal perspective – what a wonderful gift!“ – Elizabeth Kloc, The Apologetics Corner, December 2024
