President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden are in California today.
The president is designating two national monuments in the state to honor tribal lands: the Chuckwalla National Monument, near Joshua Tree National Park, and the Sáttítla National Monument.
These two monuments increase the total of protected lands in the state of California to 21, the most in the nation. The National Park Service stewards these designated lands, which include historical sites and landmarks, and sacred indigenous areas as well as sites of geological interest.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the president and his advisors as they make decisions and take action in the final weeks of this term.
- For Director Chuck Sams to seek God’s wisdom as he heads the National Park Service.
- For Cabinet secretaries and federal officials as they prepare for the transfer of administrations.
