U.S. Army Soldier Charged for Selling Presidential Candidates Phone Records

Justice Department filed charges against the accused in federal court in Seattle.

A U.S. Army soldier has been indicted by the Justice Department for illegally obtaining, sharing, and profiting from private communication data from President-elect Trump and Vice President Harris.

The court filing at the Western Washington U.S. District Court stated the accused “did, in interstate and foreign commerce, knowingly and intentionally sell and transfer, and attempt to sell and transfer, confidential phone records information of a covered entity, without prior authorization from the customer to whom such confidential phone records information related, and knowing and having reason to know such information was obtained fraudulently.”

In September, the Justice Department charged three Iranians for hacking the account of a high-ranking official in Trump’s campaign in June 2024, around the time of the selection of his vice presidential running mate.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For officials in the Justice Department as they pursue cases related to hacking and fraud.
  • For discernment for U.S. attorneys as they prepare and argue their cases on behalf of the government.
