Nine recipients in eight states were awarded $50,000 for document streamlining.
The Department of Transportation announced the nine winners of their challenge to modernize processes for the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), awarding each winner $50,000 for their contributions.
The nine winners of the department’s challenge developed online maps, streamlined public comment forms, improved translation capabilities, and implemented a variety of viewing features to upgrade infrastructure project technology.
“The NEPA process was designed to ensure that the public has an opportunity to be informed and engaged in decisions affecting transportation projects in their communities,” said Assistant Secretary for Transportation Policy Christopher Coes. “We are pleased to highlight the recipients selected through this challenge that have used technology innovations to improve engagement and efficiency in the NEPA review process.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Assistant Secretary Coes to receive God’s guidance as he heads the Office of Transportation Policy.
- For U.S. transportation officials as they seek input from the public and the private sector to modernize and upgrade infrastructure.
