President Joe Biden will speak at the Medal of Freedom Ceremony this afternoon. The Presidential Medal of Freedom was established by President John F. Kennedy in 1963 to honor civilians who have meritorious contributions to the nation.
President Biden declared January National Mentoring Month. He stated, “Leading by the power of their example, mentors represent the very best of America’s spirit of community and care for one another. During National Mentoring Month, we honor all the Americans who give their time and their hearts to mentor our Nation’s young people. “
The president concluded, “I encourage every American — whether you are a college student, community leader, or person hoping to make a difference — to explore opportunities to mentor or tutor.“
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the president as he honors civilians with presidential awards for their efforts and service to the nation.
- For federal officials as they continue to investigate the terrorist attacks that occurred on New Year’s Day.
- For the incoming members of Congress to seek God’s direction as they consider their legislative load.
