The agency adds areas to previous temporary flight restrictions.
The Federal Aviation Administration expanded the temporary flight restriction (TFR) for certain unmanned craft in parts of New Jersey this week to include some towns or municipalities in five more counties. The new special security restrictions will be in effect through January 18. The previous ban in the state is effective through January 17.
The agency ordered that drones are not permitted under 400 feet within a nautical mile of the listed towns, stating, “Pilots of aircraft that do not adhere to the procedures in the national security requirements for aircraft operations contained in this section may be intercepted, and/or detained and interviewed by federal, state, or local law enforcement or other government personnel.”
Some commercial and first responder craft are exempt from the TFR.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Administrator Michael Whitaker to be led by the Lord as he heads the FAA.
- For FAA officials as they monitor the situation regarding the drones that shut down an airport runway and military air space.
