The United States Senate is convening today to consider certain unanimous consent agreements.
The members of the Senate will consider action on a bill to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 related to making qualified ABLE programs permanent. Another measure would amend the same IRS code to postpone tax deadlines and reimburse fees for U.S. citizens unlawfully detained or held hostage abroad.
The upper chamber will also consider invoking cloture three measures: on a resolution that would remove the deadline for ratifying the Equal Rights Amendment, on a bill that seeks to protect access to contraceptives, and on a bill that would require the VA department to study the effects of cannabis on veterans’ health who have chronic pain and post-traumatic stress disorder.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For discernment for senators as they consider the measures and cloture requests.
- For Senate Majority Leader Schumer and Minority Leader McConnell as the current session comes to a close.
- For the president and members of his administration as they make decisions and take action in the final weeks of this term.
