Federal Communications Commission Chair Jessica Rosenworcel has proposed allocating additional spectrum resources for space launch communication.
The rules would “add spectrum to support space launch activities and build upon Commission action in 2023 that will enable companies to conduct launch activities without needing to request temporary authority from the FCC for each space launch“ and “provide certainty and predictability for commercial space launches.“
“We are living in a New Space Age with more frequent and lower cost launches creating all kinds of innovative opportunities for space technology,” said Chair Rosenworcel. “By identifying more bandwidth for vital links to launch vehicles, we are making it simpler for new competitors to get consistent access to the spectrum they need.“
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For discernment for Chair Rosenworcel and members of the commission as they seek to increase communication spectrum resources for commercial space launch.
- For U.S. officials as they oversee support for the exploration and defense of space.
- For the president and members of his Cabinet as they address the needs and issues facing the nation.
