Funding will support low- and medium-income Americans living in affordable residences.
The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) awarded $225 million to preserve manufactured housing this month, allocating the funds to 17 projects in 26 states. Over 22 million Americans currently live in manufactured homes, and President Biden’s administration seeks to repair and revitalize this sector of affordable housing as a way to address the country’s housing shortage.
“This is an historic investment – as the first federal grant program specifically for residents of manufactured homes,” said Acting HUD Secretary Adrianne Todman. “Manufactured housing provides an affordable path to homeownership for many families. This funding builds upon HUD’s commitment to advancing housing innovation and reduce housing costs.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Acting Secretary Todman as she heads the federal housing department.
- For prudence for HUD officials as they support manufactured housing.
