FAA and EASA Strengthen Aviation Partnership for Safety and Innovation

New agreement enhances collaboration on safety, technology, and sustainability in global aviation.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) have signed a Declaration of Intent to deepen their partnership in advancing safe and secure civil aviation. This agreement, announced during the International Civil Aviation Organization’s (ICAO) celebration of the 80th Anniversary of the Chicago Convention, highlighted collaboration on safety data, risk management, cybersecurity, emerging technologies, sustainability, and regulatory alignment.

Both agencies also plan to work together to provide technical assistance globally, ensuring shared progress in addressing challenges and opportunities in aviation.

“Aviation safety and modernization is a joint effort that requires collaboration with our international partners,” said FAA Administrator Mike Whitaker. “Emerging technologies are transforming the global aviation system and require constant collaboration to reevaluate and adapt our strategic direction as new challenges and opportunities present themselves. Efforts like this Declaration of Intent help bring it all together.”

The FAA stated the agreement intends to build on the existing EU-US agreement on civil aviation safety, fostering innovation, sustainability, and modernization across the global aviation system.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For discernment for Administrator Whitaker as he seeks to strengthen global aviation safety.
  • For FAA officials as they update and upgrade cybersecurity infrastructure and technology systems.
