An interchange with Representative McCormick became heated.
Postmaster General Louis DeJoy testified before the House Oversight and Accountability Committee on Tuesday. His interchange with Representative Rich McCormick of Georgia escalated, in which Postmaster DeJoy ended up covering his ears.
The committee is continuing its review of ongoing issues within the U.S. Postal Service (USPS), primarily focusing on spotty service and sub-par revenue generation and loss mitigation within the agency. Representative McCormick told Postmaster DeJoy that he and his peers actively avoid using USPS for their operations.
After the postmaster said he gave himself an “A” grade, the congressman contradicted him with, “You are responsible for the fall of the Postal Service and the lack of accountability.”
The postmaster interjected, “This Congress is responsible for it falling apart. I am trying to fix the Postal Service.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Postmaster DeJoy to be discerning as he heads the U.S. Postal Service.
- For Congressman McCormick and members of the committee as they provide federal oversight.
