Incoming Senate judiciary chair issues 11-page list of grievances.
Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa published an 11-page document criticizing the work of Federal Bureau of Investigation Director Christopher Wray this week. He concluded by calling on the director to resign from his position.
“For the good of the country, it’s time for you and your deputy to move on to the next chapter in your lives,” Senator Grassley wrote, adding that he has a “vote of no confidence” in Director Wray’s leadership abilities.
The senator stated, “President Trump has been subjected to a continuing double standard.” Senator Grassley compared the difference between how the agency handled President Joe Biden’s possession of classified documents with former President Donald Trump’s classified document possession, alleging bias within the bureau’s investigations.
Senator Grassley has been selected to serve as the next chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee starting in January. Director Wray’s 10-year term as FBI director ends in 2027.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For wisdom for the incoming senators and representatives as they prepare for their roles in their respective chambers.
- For the president-elect as he appoints and nominates individuals for his Cabinet and administration.
- For Director Wray as he considers Senator Grassley’s critique and recommendation to resign.
