82-year-old in stable condition, returns escorted in a wheelchair.
A medical team escorted Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky to his office in a wheelchair after the 82-year-old legislator tripped and fell while walking away from a lunch meeting on Tuesday.
“He sustained a minor cut to the face and sprained his wrist. He has been cleared to resume his schedule,” an aide stated.
Senator McConnell received medical attention in his office and was deemed stable after the fall. Senator John Thune led the party’s weekly press conference in the minority leader’s absence.
Senator McConnell was later seen at the Capitol with a brace on one wrist and a bandage on his face. When asked how he was feeling, the senator responded, “good.” He continued working until the end of the day.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Senator McConnell’s healing and recovery.
- For wisdom for the senator as he steps down from party leadership.
- For members of the incoming majority to receive God’s direction in the policies they pursue.
