He calls sudden escalation “dangerous and insane behavior.”
Speaker of the House Mike Johnson recently condemned swatting and bomb threats made against several of President-elect Trump’s nominees over the Thanksgiving holiday, one with a pro-Palestinian sign-off. The speaker urged bipartisan condemnation of the acts and cited the assassination attempts made on then-candidate and former President Trump.
Several Connecticut politicians also received bomb threats in their mailboxes during the holiday, with one senator and six out of seven of the state’s representatives receiving letters, some concluded with “MAGA.”
“This is dangerous and insane behavior. Regardless of what party you belong to, your political opponents are not your enemies. This is not who we are in America,” Speaker Johnson stated.
President Joe Biden confirmed that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has begun reviewing the incidents.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For wisdom for Speaker Johnson as he presides over the House of Representatives.
- For God’s protection over the president-elect’s nominees and other politicians who have received threats.
- For a smooth and peaceful transition of power as the new administration nears.
