FAA Prepares for Record-Breaking Thanksgiving Travel

TSA anticipates 18.3 million air passengers between Tuesday and Sunday.

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is predicting record air travel during this Thanksgiving season, expecting to process a total of 18.3 million passengers between November 26 and December 1. This is a 6 percent increase compared to 2023 travel but is consistent with the rest of 2024, which set record-breaking air travel days throughout the season.

“The 10 busiest travel days in TSA’s history have all occurred in 2024, and we anticipate that trend to continue,” said TSA Administrator David Pekoske. “I am extremely grateful for our dedicated employees across the agency who continue to remain vigilant and focused on the mission to ensure security of our transportation systems and keep the traveling public safe.”

The Transportation Department announced that the Federal Aviation Administration has opened special airspace to commercial planes that is ordinarily reserved for military use.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Administrator Pekoske to be led by the Lord as he heads the TSA.
  • For DOT Secretary Buttigieg and FAA Administrator Whitaker as they seek to ensure safe travels for Americans over the holiday.
