Lebanese officials seek Israeli withdrawal after continued air strikes.
U.S. Special Envoy Amos Hochstein met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz this week after speaking with Lebanese leaders. He said that his talks with officials from the two countries continue to progress toward a final ceasefire agreement. He did not provide the details of his most recent meeting, but Lebanese officials stated their desire to ensure Israel’s swift withdrawal from the south of the country.
Violence has continued to escalate between Israel and Hezbollah. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stated that the attacks are necessary to push Hezbollah forces away from Israel’s northern border as Israeli forces are going beyond Lebanon’s south border in order to achieve this goal. Hezbollah attacked Israel soon after Hamas’ attack on October 7, 2023.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Envoy Hochstein to seek God’s direction as he tries to negotiate a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah.
- For wisdom for U.S. officials as they determine which ways they will support Israel.
- For the peace of Jerusalem and for the people of Israel, Gaza, and Lebanon.
