Additional National Prayer Needs
Pray for America’s Military
Safety concerns continue to surround the Osprey, as the lifespan of parts is shorter than anticipated and the complicated platform can cause fatalities due to minor pilot error. The safety issues of the dual-mode aircraft continue to be a topic of concern for military officials and federal legislators.
For wisdom for military and legislative officials as they consider the ongoing safety challenges of the Osprey aircraft.
PRAY FOR AN END TO THE WAR IN UKRAINE
Ukraine announced its attack on ammunition warehouses in the Bryansk region, using U.S.-supplied long-range missiles this week for the first deeper incursion into Russia. The U.S. changed its policy regarding the use of these ballistic missiles after North Korean troops joined Russian forces in the war.
Pray for the president and defense officials to be prudent in their support and assistance of Ukraine.
Pray for AMERICA’S RELATIONSHIP WITH ISRAEL
The United States vetoed a United Nations Security Council draft resolution against Israel this week. U.S. Ambassador Robert Wood criticized the resolution, which called for an “immediate, unconditional, and permanent cease-fire“ that did not guarantee the release of the hostages held by Hamas.
Pray for Israel and U.S. officials as they seek a path for the release of the hostages still in captivity.
Pray for AMERICA’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported an E. coli outbreak may be connected to organic bagged carrots. The Food and Drug Administration stated that Grimmway Farms is “the common supplier of the organic whole and baby carrots in this outbreak.“ One person has died, 39 others sickened across 18 states, and 15 hospitalized, according to the CDC.
Pray for officials in the FDA and CDC as they seek to contain outbreaks of foodborne illness.
Pray for Needs Across the States
The Georgia Appeals Court has canceled the hearing in the Fulton County RICO case against President-elect Donald Trump. Oral arguments had been scheduled after Trump’s attorneys appealed to disqualify the district attorney in the case. The hearing has not yet been rescheduled.
The Pennsylvania Supreme Court has again ordered county election officials not to include undated or misdated mail-in and absentee ballots in the recount of the U.S. Senate race between Dave McCormick and incumbent Bob Casey. An election official was previously caught on video, saying, “I think we all know that precedent by a court doesn’t matter anymore in this country, and people violate laws anytime they want.”
For state courts and judges as they hear and rule on cases regarding election integrity and procedures.
Pray for America’s Faith Community
“A lot of people, when they hear they ought to pray, they think of works. They think of, you know, ‘how do I pray?‘ Like it’s something we have to know how to do. In reality, authentic prayer has nothing to do with following a formula. … First of all, authentic prayer begins by faith. What do I mean by that? If somebody doesn’t have faith that there is a God and that God will respond to them when they cry out, they’re not going to be motivated to pray. So the Bible says in the book of Hebrews chapter eleven verse 6, those that are going to please God must first of all believe that He exists. I mean, how are we going to please God if we don’t believe in Him, right? We must believe that He exists and, the author of Hebrews says, that He’s the Rewarder of those that diligently seek Him. That creates a foundation for authentic prayer.“ – Rabbi K.A. Schneider, Discovering the Jewish Jesus, November 2024
