He holds meetings in Australia, the Philippines, Laos, and Fiji.
Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin departed on his final trip to the Indo-Pacific region to participate in several international meetings. He started his trip in Australia, where he met with his counterparts from Australia and Japan. He then traveled to the Philippines, Laos, and Fiji, where he toured new military facilities and discussed ongoing interoperability initiatives with international air, sea, and land forces.
Secretary Austin said ahead of the trip, “During this trip, we will deliver results to advance cooperation, strengthen our relationships, and build an enduring network of allies and partners.“
The U.S. defense secretary intends to strengthen joint air and missile defense and information-sharing capabilities with these nations.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For wisdom for Secretary Austin as he seeks to strengthen partnerships with Indo-Pacific allies.
- For U.S. defense officials to be discerning in their actions and decisions in the final months of the current adminsitration.
