DOJ Charges Two Executives for Exporting U.S. Technology to Russia

E-commerce website sold millions of U.S. products to Russian customers.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) unsealed criminal charges against two Virginia executives this week, accusing them of selling millions of dollars in illegal U.S. exports to Russian customers.

The leaders of Eleview International, Inc. ran an e-commerce site between March 2022 and June 2023, allowing Russian customers to order technology directly from U.S. retailers. The two then shipped the items through three different countries, Turkey, Finland, and Kazakhstan, to conceal the item’s final destination.

“This company allegedly used not one, not two, but three different schemes to illegally transship sensitive American technology to Russia,” said Assistant Secretary of Commerce Matthew Axelrod. “Today’s charges, against both the company and two top executives, are a prime example of our work to bring to justice both the companies and the corporate executives alleged to have circumvented our rules in search of a fatter bottom line.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Justice Department officials as they prosecute the perpetrators of technology exports to Russia.
  • For Secretary Raimondo and Assistance Secretary Axelrod as they collaborate on the case with the DOJ.
